Overview

Aurizon (ASX: AZJ) is Australia’s largest rail freight operator and an ASX top 50 company, transporting approximately 250 million tonnes of commodities annually with over 6,000 employees. Originally QR National (privatised and ASX-listed in November 2010), the company operates four major business divisions: Network, Coal, Bulk, and Containerised Freight.

Aurizon operates across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory, providing coal haulage from mine to port, bulk freight for grain, minerals, metals, and agricultural products, and intermodal container services. In 2023, Aurizon re-entered the interstate intermodal market with an AU$1.8 billion, 11-year contract with Team Global Express.
