Lindsay Transport was established as Lindsay Brothers Transport in March 1953 by Tom and Peter Lindsay when they purchased 3 second-hand trucks from their father. From these humble beginnings, Lindsay Transport has grown to become one of Australia’s largest transport companies, now part of ASX-listed Lindsay Australia Limited (ASX: LAU). The company delivers more than 2 million tonnes of freight to over 3,200 customers annually and has earned its reputation as a respected leader in refrigerated transport.
Operating primarily along Australia’s east coast with expanded national reach, Lindsay Transport specialises in general, dry, and refrigerated transport services. Recent expansion through strategic acquisitions, including WB Hunter in Victoria (2024) and SRT Logistics in Tasmania (2025 for $108.2 million), has formed Australia’s largest refrigerated logistics network. The company’s integrated approach combines road and rail networks with cross-Tasman shipping capabilities, connecting products with markets from Mareeba to Hobart, or Launceston to Perth.
As part of Lindsay Australia Limited, Lindsay Transport operates alongside Lindsay Fresh Logistics (cross-docking, storage, ripening, fumigation, and import/export services at Brisbane Markets) and Lindsay Rural (agricultural supplies to 1,500+ farmers), creating an integrated supply chain solution for Australian agriculture and food industries.
