Overview

Coastal Transport Services was established in 1986 by director Ray Graetz, who began with a small number of trucks servicing a rail contract on the Central Coast of New South Wales. Over more than 35 years, the company has grown to operate a fleet of 160 pieces of equipment from two depots: Warnervale on the Central Coast (adjacent to the M1 Motorway) and Wetherill Park in Sydney (adjacent to the M7 Motorway). An original member of TruckSafe and NHVR accredited for maintenance, fatigue, and mass management, Coastal Transport has become an integral part of the supply chain for some of Australia’s largest companies, supporting over 100 families on the Central Coast and in Sydney.

Specialised Transport Fleet

Coastal Transport operates a versatile fleet specialising in the intrastate transport of palletised goods, precast concrete panels, dangerous goods, wide loads, steel, pipe loads, culverts, concrete barriers, and construction materials. Their equipment range includes crane-equipped trucks, tautliners, flat-tops, A-frames, extendable trailers, and rigid trucks, all GPS-monitored with driver mobility applications for real-time booking status.

Warehousing and 3PL

Both the Warnervale and Wetherill Park depots offer racked bay warehousing with capacity for over 2,000 pallets each. Services include container destuffing, racked and hardstand storage, pick and pack, and distribution. Their warehouse management software handles stock booking, routine stocktakes, and security footage monitoring to ensure inventory integrity.

Crane Truck Operations

Coastal Transport maintains a significant crane truck capability, with rear-mount Palfinger cranes fitted to 8x4 rigid trucks. This makes them a preferred partner for construction and infrastructure projects requiring on-site crane unloading of heavy or awkward materials such as precast panels, tower crane components, and steel.

Integration Notes

Coastal Transport Services does not currently offer direct API, EDI, or webhook integrations. Their transport fleet is GPS-monitored and drivers use mobility applications for real-time booking status updates. Warehousing operations are supported by warehouse management software that handles stock booking, stocktakes, and security monitoring. The Warnervale depot also features the only public weighbridge between Newcastle and Sydney, a 140-tonne, 4-platform facility available 24 hours. Freight bookings and enquiries are handled directly through their Warnervale or Wetherill Park depots.
